Frequently Ask Questions about Swim Lessons

  • Every swimmer has a unique set of challenges they face. There best indicator for how quickly someone masters swimming skills is the amount of time they spend practicing. We suggest scheduling swim lessons consistently for the best results.

  • For residents who live on Maui, we suggest scheduling 1-2 times per week to help you or your child build and maintain momentum and familiarity with swim skills. For visitors to Maui or during school breaks, we find scheduling every day or every other day is a great way to give your child a boost in learning.

  • Each kid’s learn to swim session can last between 30-45 minutes depending on the child’s skills, willingness and capacity for the day.

    Adult learn to swim sessions last between 45-60 minutes depending on the learners capacity for the day.

  • We ask that an adult guardian be present at all swim lessons with children.

    While you will not be required to enter the water with your child during private lessons, we do suggest always being prepared in the event that your child would be more comfortable with you there.

  • Good items to bring to your swim lesson include a towel, sunscreen and goggles. We also like to suggest wetsuits for kids to help them stay warmer and make your session last longer.

  • We have a progression of skills that we teach every student. This progression focuses on water safety as a priority. Skills to be taught include, breath control, back floating, increasing sense of bouncy, and various ways to move through the water. We build from this foundation to help swimmers learn strokes, increase efficiency and achieve any other swimming goals they may have.

  • We ask for at least 24 hour notice for cancelling any swim lessons. All lesson cancelled after this time frame will be charged a 50% fee.
